And the thing is, unlike Dean, Sam was never extremely vocal about being straight. Like, for all we know, he could've dated guys in college before he got with Jess for instance. But yeah, they only wanted Destihell. You can tell with how they also never really talk about other queer ships/canon queer ships. Especially not ones with women.
Yeah there is a room for that argument. I can see how it can be entertained at least. Those people don’t want Sam to be the queer one though. It doesn’t fit their fantasy.
I want to say that the following is true but I can’t remember if it is or if it’s a rumor. I don’t remember the episode but it’s early in the series, either season 1 or 2, and the scene has the brothers sitting at a bar and the guy who plays s8 Benny is the bartender. He comes onto Sam and Sam kinda responds until he remembers that Dean is sitting next to him. I think Sam being bisexual was a thing they were willing to tease the audience with but that was shut down. Again, I’m not sure if that was actually a thing or a rumor. I think it was mentioned at a con.
Also, I saw several hellers tweet a while ago (and no I don’t have screenshots) that Sam being bi would’ve been inferior representation compared to Dean. Even if Sam was made bi it wouldn’t be good enough for them.
Carina: I’m so sad about this. The previous leadership at The CW nurtured a family of artists — Mark Pedowitz was involved in our storytelling. He watched every episode. He championed emerging writers & valued keeping talent in the family.

This is why those of us who actually understood the industry didn’t cheer when Nexstar took over and Mark Pedowitz stepped down because we knew that the network would become less diverse and inclusive. It would kill a place that once gave voice to people who usually aren’t given a voice.
Exactly. I’m sad to see the CW slowly changing/dying right before my eyes. Ppl can be so blind/ignorant to what a Nexstar takeover meant. All some care about is if their fav’s show was renewed.
Ok so I just finished s7 in my rewatch and it is absolutely wild that it ends with everyone sam has ever loved dead, completely alone and adrift in the world, still suffering from the trauma of the cage on top of this traumatic loss and all his support ripped from him. And then everyone spends all of s8 being like “wow how dare you try to find some peace and healing and build a life again. this is the worst thing youve ever done and somehow different than what dean did with lisa. kill urself”
(Un)friendly reminder that Dean also still had Bobby when he lost Sam and went into mini-retirement in Suburgatory with Lisa. Maybe he lost the most important person, but he didn’t literally lose them all.
One more time for the logic impaired:
Dean also told Sam to move on and not look for him.
Jody “and others” were passing acquaintances, not lovers/family who would take him in and support him the way Lisa did for Dean.
Sam DID NOT abandon Kevin. He had no way to find him and no weapons to confront demons with even if he could find him. The angels flat out told Sam and Dean that Kevin was THEIR responsibility, NOT Sam and Dean’s. They could have easily rescued Kevin but chose not to. But hey, let’s keep blaming Sam for what THE ENTIRE HEAVENLY HOST CHOSE NOT TO DO.
Sam, logically, thought Dean was dead. He had no reason whatsoever to believe that Dean being blown up would send him to the monster after life.
And once again because this fact seems to somehow keeps failing to penetrate the dense fog of denial surrounding Dean apologists: Dean told Sam to move on and not look for him.
Sam did nothing wrong. Dean was the asshole of season 8.
Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free.
